The eleventh revision of the UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) has recently been published. Notably, this latest edition clarifies the classification criteria for aerosols and chemicals under pressure, introduces new guidance for classifying skin sensitisers using non-animal methods, and includes further rationalisation of precautionary statements to enhance user comprehension while maintaining usability for labelling practitioners. It also adds a new section in Annex 11, providing guidance on the identification of simple asphyxiants.
